The Williams Second Saturday Art Walk is gearing up for its second year.

The art walk starts May 11 from 6 to 9 p.m. and continues on the second Saturday of the month through October.

"This is all part of our goal to make Williams a destination for art, in addition to the other wonderful things that Williams offers," said Kris Williams, one of the owners of The Gallery in Williams.

This year, the free Art Walk Shuttle Van will operate on a 15-minute loop to take visitors to each stop. The shuttle will start at the town clock in the Visitor Parking Lot.

"Even though Williams is a small town...we go the full length of town," said Tom Williams, one of the owners of The Gallery.

The Gallery in Williams, which organizes the event, is at a new location this year, at 145 W. Route 66. The Gallery will have live entertainment and free refreshments during the art walk.

Other art walk venues include Native America, The Open Studios, Café 326, Western Outfitters and DeBerge Saddlery, Grand Canyon Winery Tasting Room, Thunder Eagle and Pine Country Restaurant.

Flagstaff has a similar art walk, which is where the owners of The Gallery got the idea.

"Flagstaff's art walk is like a huge street party, and we were hoping to draw from their success, draw people from there," Tom Williams said.

However, organizers say the art walk in Williams has a different feel than other art walks.

"Williams offers a more relaxed, friendly, cozy art walk experience compared to Flagstaff or other art walks," Kris Williams said.

Red Raven, Bankers Real Estate, Conoco and Bearizona Wildlife Park sponsor the event.
