WILLIAMS, Ariz. - The Gallery in Williams will move to a new location in February.

The Gallery is relocating to the RE/MAX Great Northern location at 145 W. Route 66, on the southeast corner of Route 66 and Second Street. Debi Zecchin of RE/MAX Great Northern will be relocating to Houston, Texas.

The Historic Grand Canyon Hotel owns the property. The Gallery owner Kris Williams said they expect to move Feb. 1.

"We will have more space there and it is, of course, one of the premier locations in Williams," Williams said. "We're excited about the exposure we're going to have right in the heart of Williams."

In addition to the larger space and improved location, the new building has several windows, which provides excellent natural light for displaying art.

Williams said they have started remodeling the interior by taking down walls. This opens up the space to better display the artwork.

The Gallery will remain open at its original location, at 309 W. Route 66, through this month. It first opened there in September 2011.

"We have been successful in our current location, but we felt that location would give us maximum visitor exposure," Williams said. "Virtually every visitor to Williams visits that intersection, so we couldn't be more pleased with that location."

Williams said they were not planning to move The Gallery, but when the new location became available they could not pass it up.

"When things start to happen, they happen fast," Williams said.

Williams was unsure about what will move into The Gallery's previous location after the move, but she said she hopes another gallery moves in.

The Gallery will have a grand reopening in its new location.
