Signup for Scholastic Clay Target program
Scholastic Clay Target Program signup for shooting year 2012-2013 will be held 10 a.m.-12 p.m. Saturday at the Williams Recreation Center, 301 W. Railroad Ave.
The age group is for students ages 9-18. The shooting year is Oct. 1-May 31. There will be practice shoots on two weekends per month and fun shoots two times each year along with state competitions for trap, skeet and sporting clays, to select teams to go to National competitions.
The fees for the program are $15 for the shooting year. There will be fees for the shoots that are scheduled. There will be fees to shoot at the area ranges that are not yet posted.

Free health fair Oct. 6
A free health fair and open house will be presented by North Country Healthcare 8 a.m.-12 p.m. Oct. 6 at the Williams Health Care Center, 301 S. Seventh St.
Free cholesterol screenings will be given to the first 100 visitors. Please do not eat or drink anything other than water 10 hours prior. Tours of the new mobile medical unit will be offered as well as voter registration. Also on offer are blood pressure checks, blood glucose screening, rapid HIV testing, and much more.

The International Chili Society is seeking cooks for its Chili Shootout in Williams Oct. 13 at Wild West Junction.

Categories will include red and green chili and salsa. The fee to enter is $35 for red, $25 green and $15 salsa. Prizes in the red chili division are $500 for first, $300 second and $150 third. Prizes for green chili are $300 first, $150 second and $100 third. Salsa prizes are $100 first, $75 second and $50 third.

Community transition fair Oct. 9
Coconino Community College is hosting the Second Annual Community Transition Fair: Going for the Goal 2-6 p.m. Oct. 9 at the Lone Tree Campus, Flagstaff.
Discover the possibilities for the future. The northern Arizona community, parents, students and advocates are invited to this free event showcasing options for transitioning from high school to post-secondary education, educational programs and services, employment, adult services and agencies and strategies for success.
Numerous vendors and agencies will be there to share information and resources, including two and four year colleges, military representatives, public health agencies, employers, service agencies and more.
