St. John's Episcopal Lutheran Church

Jesus Christ is our good shepherd, may we not forget. He will take care of us always. Keep your faith in him and be an example to others.

Our garden in front of church is looking very nice with all of the bulb flowers in bloom and the tree beginning to leaf out. Spring is here in subtle ways.

All members are reminded that there will be a Bishop's Committee meeting next Sunday, May 2, following a potluck lunch. Please bring a dish to pass.

Also remember that on Sunday, May 16, we will be having a church service at the rim of the Grand Canyon. All will meet at the church at 9 a.m., pick up maps, and then leave. All who attend are asked to bring a dish to pass for lunch. There will also be a 10:30 a.m. service at St. Johns that morning for those who do not wish to go to the Canyon.

Book Study, "The Tent of Abraham," will continue next Sunday, May 2, at 9 a.m. in Walker Hall.

Confirmation class is at 9:30 a.m. each Sunday morning. We are presently studying the Ten Commandments.

Primary Sunday School begins at 10 a.m. All visitors and community are welcome to join us in worship at 10:30 a.m.

Family Harvest Church

We invite all to join us during any of our scheduled events.

This is our schedule -

• Adult Bible Study is held at 6 p.m. every Wednesday. Currently Pastor Tim is teaching through the Epistle of James.

• Youth night is held 6-8 p.m. every Thursday.

• Sunday morning service begins at 10:30 a.m. with nursery and kids church provided. Pastor Tim is teaching a study on "A Man After God's Heart." Sunday evening service is at 6 p.m.

• Monday night men's and women's separate Bible Study begins at 6 p.m. Child care is provided.

Family Harvest is located at 220 S. Seventh St. For more information call (928) 635-5208.

St. Joseph Catholic Church

St. Joseph's Parish is selling cookbooks for $10. For more information, call (928) 635-2430.

Weekly events include -

• Friday - 8 a.m., Benediction and Holy Hour Morning Prayer; 9 a.m., Holy Mass.

• Saturday - 4 p.m., Confessions; 5 p.m., Holy Rosary; 5:30 p.m., English Mass; 6:45 p.m., Santo Rosario; 7 p.m., Spanish Mass.

• Sunday - 7:30 a.m., Holy Rosary; 8 a.m., Holy Mass.

• Tuesday - 8:40 a.m., Liturgy of the Hour Morning Prayer; 9 a.m., Holy Mass.

The church office is open 10 a.m.-4 p.m. Monday, Tuesday and Friday.

St. Joseph's is located at 900 W. Grant Ave. For additional information, please call 635-2430.

Calvary Chapel Williams

This week's regularly scheduled church events include -

• Wednesday - Midweek study begins at 7 p.m. We are currently studying in First Samuel.

• Thursday - Junior and Senior High School Youth Group begins at 7 p.m. at the church.

• Sunday - Sunday worship service begins at 10 a.m. Pastor Mike is currently teaching through the Book of Acts.

• Tuesday - Ladies' Bible Study, "Women of the Bible," meets at 10 a.m. at the church.

The church is located at 106 S. Ninth St. For more information on any events, please call 635-1597.

Jehovah's Witnesses

The Jehovah's Witnesses warmly welcome you to their weekly Bible meetings:

• Sunday - Bible discourse, 10 a.m.; Watchtower study, Matthew 6:10.

• Thursday - Theocratic Ministry School, Congregation Bible Study, service meeting, 7:30 p.m., John 6:45.

All meetings are held at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses, 5495 N. Sunset Strip, and are open to the public.

First Baptist Church

First Baptist now has a certified Christian counselor on staff, Mike Mitchell. If you have a need to speak to a Christian counselor and would like to make an appointment, please call the church office at (928) 635-4692.

Weekly events include:

• Today - Women's Bible Study at 10 a.m. at the home of Edith Pouquette; teen night, 6 p.m.

• Sunday - Sunday school (all ages) - 9:30 a.m.; worship service - 10:30 a.m.; and children's church - 11 a.m. Child care is provided.

• Tuesday - Ladies Bible study, 10 a.m. at the church; Men's group, 6 p.m. at the church.

Community United Methodist Church

Weekly fellowship opportunities include -

• Tuesday - 1 p.m., Not-Sew-Perfect Quilters.

• Wednesday - 6 p.m., Sisters-in-Spirit meeting.

• Saturday - 7 a.m., Men's Ministry.

• Sunday - 8:45 a.m. adult Sunday School; 10 a.m. worship/young disciples church; and 11:30 a.m. fellowship.
