Community United Methodist Church

Pastor Billy's message was the final in a series on "The Beatitudes." The title was "For the sake of Christ." Scripture was read from Matthew 5:10-12.

Have you seen the work being done on the church steeple? The work is going along right on schedule. The bell ringing to begin the service was missed on Sunday but it won't be long and the new tower will be up and ringing.

Sisters-in-Spirit will be meeting tonight, April 21, at 6 p.m. with Bible study, and then at 7 p.m. the business meeting will start.

On Saturday the men's prayer ministry will be at the church at 7 a.m. The Lay Shepherding training that was scheduled for April 24 has been postponed.

There will be a celebration of life for Tammie Parenteau this Saturday, April 24, at 11 a.m. A reception will follow at the Best Western Inn of Williams.

Weekly fellowship opportunities include -

• Tuesday - 1 p.m., Not-Sew-Perfect Quilters.

• Wednesday - 6 p.m., Sisters-in-Spirit meeting.

• Saturday - 7 a.m., Men's Ministry.

• Sunday - 8:45 a.m. adult Sunday School; 10 a.m. worship/young disciples church; and 11:30 a.m. fellowship.

St. John's Episcopal Lutheran Church

"O God, whose blessed Son made himself known to his disciples in the breaking of the bread; open the eyes of our faith, that we may behold him in all his redeeming work."

There will be no book study this coming Sunday.

All members are reminded of two important dates in May: May 2 will be our Bishop's Committee Meeting and potluck; May 16 our morning worship service will be held at the Grand Canyon.

Confirmation Class continues each Sunday at 9:30 a.m.; Sunday School at 10 a.m. All are welcome to worship with us each Sunday morning at 10:30 a.m.

Family Harvest Church

We invite all to join us during any of our scheduled events.

This is our schedule -

• Adult Bible Study is held at 6 p.m. every Wednesday. Currently Pastor Tim is teaching through the Epistle of James.

• Youth night is held 6-8 p.m. every Thursday.

• Sunday morning service begins at 10:30 a.m. with nursery and kids church provided. Pastor Tim is teaching a study on "A Man After God's Heart." Sunday evening service is at 6 p.m.

• Monday night men's and women's separate Bible Study begins at 6 p.m. Child care is provided.

St. Joseph Catholic Church

St. Joseph's Catholic Church is having a fundraising dinner 5-7 p.m. Friday at the church, 900 W. Grant Ave. The dinner will feature soup, bread and dessert. The cost is $7 per person and children age 12 and under eat for a donation only. Everyone is invited to attend.

St. Joseph's Parish is selling cookbooks for $10. For more information, call (928) 635-2430.

• Friday - 8 a.m., Benediction and Holy Hour Morning Prayer; 9 a.m., Holy Mass.

• Saturday - 4 p.m., Confessions; 5 p.m., Holy Rosary; 5:30 p.m., English Mass; 6:45 p.m., Santo Rosario; 7 p.m., Spanish Mass.

• Sunday - 7:30 a.m., Holy Rosary; 8 a.m., Holy Mass.

• Tuesday - 8:40 a.m., Liturgy of the Hour Morning Prayer; 9 a.m., Holy Mass.

The church office is open 10 a.m.-4 p.m. Monday, Tuesday and Friday.

Calvary Chapel Williams

This week's regularly scheduled church events include -

• Wednesday - Midweek study begins at 7 p.m. We are currently studying in First Samuel.

• Thursday - Junior and Senior High School Youth Group begins at 7 p.m. at the church.

• Sunday - Sunday worship service begins at 10 a.m. Pastor Mike is currently teaching through the Book of Acts.

• Tuesday - Ladies' Bible Study, "Women of the Bible," meets at 10 a.m. at the church.

The church is located at 106 S. Ninth St. For more information on any events, please call 635-1597.

Jehovah's Witnesses

The Jehovah's Witnesses warmly welcome you to their weekly Bible meetings:

• Sunday - Bible discourse, 10 a.m.; Watchtower study, Matthew 6:10.

• Thursday - Theocratic Ministry School, Congregation Bible Study, service meeting, 7:30 p.m., John 6:45.

All meetings are held at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses, 5495 N. Sunset Strip, and are open to the public.

First Baptist Church

First Baptist now has a certified Christian counselor on staff, Mike Mitchell. If you have a need to speak to a Christian counselor and would like to make an appointment, please call the church office at (928) 635-4692.

Weekly events include:

• Today - Women's Bible Study at 10 a.m. at the home of Edith Pouquette; teen night, 6 p.m.

• Sunday - Sunday school (all ages) - 9:30 a.m.; worship service - 10:30 a.m.; and children's church - 11 a.m. Child care is provided.

• Tuesday - Ladies Bible study, 10 a.m. at the church; Men's group, 6 p.m. at the church.
