Letter: Tampering with U.S. mail is a federal offense
I am not sure if people are aware of it or not, but some of your little angels (hooligans) were out Tuesday night (June 10) in the neighborhood of Quarter Horse Road and went through several mailboxes throughout the neighborhood-tampering with everyone's mail.

Letter: Gray water use a good thing, black water use, not so much
The recent article and pictures regarding the use of gray water should be commended and encouraged by all area residents, not just now in our critical drought period, but as a normal procedure for use on your landscape.

Letter: Woman pleased with customer service at local gas station
To the editor:

On Oct. 19, I went to the Williams Health Care Center with a cold that turned into a serious sinus infection.

Afterwards I went to the Williams Conoco by Safeway to get gas before going home. I got out of my car to use my debit, sneezing and sniffling. As soon as I had punched in everything for my gas, an employee named Jackie came up to me and said, "I got this, I'll pump your gas. You go ahead and get back in your car."

Letter: Community made Halloween fun possible
To the editor:

For many years the city of Williams Recreation Department has produced activities including the Halloween festivities at the Youth Recreation Center and the Skate Park. This is in reference to an outrageous repair by the city of Williams. The snowplow accidentally damaged our driveway and the street crew has finished the repairs. The job can only be described as outrageous.

Letter: Please step forward with information
To the editor:

I saw in last week's paper that the identity of the person who tortured the cat in Parks so badly it had to be put to sleep is known. It appears the people who know his identity are afraid to go to the police so that this man can get the help he needs.

I beg them to go to the police as it is the first step in getting this man some help. Ask any doctor; the next time (and there most likely will be one if he is not stopped now) it could be a child.

Letter: Mayor's letter addresses water issues
To our valued water customers:

As you know the city of Williams has been dealing with extremely high levels of manganese in the water supply. Manganese is a mineral that is naturally occurring in the water supply, and while it is generally undetectable to the average user, when manganese reacts with the chlorine in the water supply it becomes a problem. As manganese level increase, the result is discolored water, laundry and plumbing fixtures and more importantly an overall dissatisfaction with the water quality. However, it is important to keep in mind that the manganese does not pose a health threat, and at all times the City's water has met Arizona Department of Environmental Quality (ADEQ) standards.
