Letter: WUSD Superintendent thanks community for continued support

To the editor:

I would like to take this opportunity to personally thank all of the individuals that were instrumental in helping the WUSD override be approved. I could not be more grateful to the community, civic group members, parents, staff and local businesses for their support.

Maintaining these funds will allow the schools to continue providing effective programs for students. We will now be able to continue with full-day kindergarten, art, PE, high school electives and free participation in sports. We will also be able to maintain key teacher and support staff positions. These positions will allow school administrators to continue to keep class sizes at a manageable level and give students the attention they need to be successful.

Effective Schools recognize the importance of school and community relationships and trust. It is these types of positive working relationships that ensure that every child gets the best possible education and the best possible chance for a productive and fulfilling life. Thank you again for your support. We won't let you down.

Rachel Savage

WUSD Superintendent
