Letter: Please step forward with information

To the editor:

I saw in last week's paper that the identity of the person who tortured the cat in Parks so badly it had to be put to sleep is known. It appears the people who know his identity are afraid to go to the police so that this man can get the help he needs.

I beg them to go to the police as it is the first step in getting this man some help. Ask any doctor; the next time (and there most likely will be one if he is not stopped now) it could be a child.

The police may very well allow you to remain anonymous. Just ask.

Please report this so this man can get help now. How will you feel if he tortures a child?

My best wishes to everyone who is concerned about this situation.

Liz Ursitti

Cruelty to animals is a good indicator of other very bad human traits and future criminal behavior. If residents actually know the truth about what happened, they are cowards not to report it to the police.
