Letter: Williams High School students prove to be great ambassadors

To the editor:

I feel compelled to let our community know about the six students and Williams High School educators I accompanied to Costa Rica during spring break.

It was a breathtaking experience seeing the cultural and environmental diversity, but my most lasting impression is that of the confidence, maturity, respect and compassion of our students...they did Williams proud and are truly Goodwill Ambassadors.

I accepted with humbleness all of the compliments bestowed upon them everywhere we went. I have known most of them since they were at Williams Elementary-Middle School and now I'm not really surprised, but happy to be with now as they are young adults. Their parents, teachers, and a loving community have contributed to this and to coin a phrase, "It takes a village," takes on new meaning for me!

For your information, we want to go to Europe next year so if a student asks you to donate tax credit money for this endeavor it will be money well spent on your part!

Thanks for letting me go along.
