WILLIAMS, Ariz. - The dedication and election of officers for a new Matthew J. Broehm VFW Post 12128 Ladies Auxiliary took place at the Sultana Theater Aug. 23. The event was highly successful and well attended.

Five ladies decided to form the group and after 18 months of organizing and hard work, they finally got it done.

Newly elected President Carol McElwain and her slate of 13 officers, with a total membership of 28, all pledge "To do our part to support the VFW Post and our veterans."

Auxiliary members want to thank all that donated and supported the ladies for this event. Special thanks go to the gentlemen of the post who prepared and served the food.

The founders of the Ladies Auxiliary VFW hoped to develop a program to assist veterans returning from battle and assimilating into civilian life. Today the organization continues to help those coming directly from the battlefield or from the hospital as they try to reestablish themselves and maintain normal, happy lives with their families and their communities.

More information about the Auxiliary is available by contacting the Matthew James Broehm Ladies Auxiliary VFW Post 12128, 117 Route 66, Suite 190, Williams, Arizona 86046 or by email at ladiesauxiliaryvfwpost12128@gmail.com.
