The Williams Police Department (WPD) answered the following calls for service (among others) -

• Officers responded to several alarms in the city because of high wind;

• Officers moved two RVs parked and camping in the city parking lot;

• Officers attempted to contact two RV's camping behind a local restaurant but were unsuccessful;

• Officers dealt with garbage cans blowing in the streets;

• Officers responded to a civil matter and theft on McPherson Avenue;

• Officers assisted Lifeline on Grant Avenue;

• Officers and the Fire Department responded to a stabbing on Sheridan Avenue. The stabbing turned out to be an attempted suicide;

• Officers responded to an alarm on Route 66;

• Officers arrested a man for driving with a suspended license and possession of marijuana on Fourth Street;

• Officers responded to loose sheep on Cataract;

• Officers assisted the Department of Public Safety with a rollover accident on I-40;

• Officers responded to an RV camping in a local grocery store parking lot;

• Officers responded to a suspicious vehicle at a local business;

• Officers responded to a suspicious person on Ninth Street and Route 66;

• Officers took a theft report on Fifth Street;

• Officers responded to fireworks on Route 66;

• Officers took a theft report from a business on First Street and Route 66;

• Officers took in found property on Route 66;

• Officers responded to an alarm on Rodeo Road;

• Officers responded to a fire on Rodeo Road. They found a burnt dinner;

• Officers responded to a intoxicated man on Route 66 and took the man to his hotel room;

• Officers responded to a suspicious person on Edison Avenue;

• Officers responded to a fight on Third Street and Route 66. The subjects left when officers arrived;

• Officers arrested a man for aggravated assault after they responded to a fight on Fifth Street;

• Officers assisted Lifeline on Sherman Avenue;

• Officers responded to suspicious activity on First Street;

• Officers responded to an alarm on Route 66;

• Officers responded to an alarm on Grant Avenue;

• Officers took a report of credit card theft and unlawful use of a credit card on Grand Canyon Boulevard;

• Officers responded to suspicious activity on Rodeo Road;

• Officers responded to a landlord and tenant problem on Grant Avenue;

• Officers responded to go cart racing on Highland Meadows;

• Officers responded to a fight on Second Street and Route 66. Nobody was in the area when officers arrived; and

• Officers issued eight citations and gave out 19 warnings.

Anyone with any information is urged to call the WPD at (928) 635-4461. Anonymous tips can be left at any time at (928) 635-5992. Those who want to report a crime while remaining anonymous can also call Silent Witness at (928) 774-6111 or (877) 29-CRIME. Silent Witness offers rewards of as much as $1,000 for information that leads to an arrest.
