WILLIAMS - There will be plenty for the public to see and do during Saturday's Annual Community Health and Safety Fair, according to event organizers. This year's event will offer games, a bounce house, free food and beverages, as well as prizes. Health and safety instruction, such as child car seat information, hunter safety and child indentification kits, will also be offered. Sarah MacRae, community service officer with the Williams Police Department, is helping to coordinate this year's fair.

According to MacRae, roughly 200 participants are expected to come out for the event.

The fair will begin at 11 a.m. and end at 2 p.m. and will be held at the Williams Elementary-Middle School at 601 N. Seventh St. A second community health and safety fair is also planned for Parks May 22. The Parks fair will be held at the Maine Consolidated School at 10 Spring Valley Road, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Special visits from Smokey the Bear, McGruff the Crime Dog and Safety Pup are also expected for both events.

Sponsors for the fair include the Williams Masonic Lodge No. 38, the American Legion Cordova Post No. 13, the Williams Rotary Club, the Williams Kiwanis Club and Wal-Mart. Coordinators include the Williams Police Department, the Coconino County Health Department, the Coconino County Sheriff's Department, the Department of Public Safety, the Williams Alliance and the WUSD Family Resource Center.
