The Northern Arizona Task Force Metro Board recently made a $3,000 contribution to Williams Parents Who Care for this year's Grad Night event.
According to Williams Chief of Police Herman Nixon, the money comes from funds confiscated from drug dealers and individuals transporting illegal substances across the state.
The confiscated money is placed in RICO funds in the county where the illicit money is seized.
Organizations like Parents Who Care can apply for funding. The organizations are required to use the money to combat the use of illegal narcotics.
Nixon said he applied for funding on behalf of Grad Night after Flagstaff's Grad Night event was awarded funds last year.
"One of the reasons Parents Who Care/Grad Night qualifies for these funds is it's a safe program to prevent alcohol use and drug use by our senior class and student body as a whole," Nixon said.
The Metro Board is comprised of chiefs of police in northern Arizona, including Page and Winslow, and the county attorney.
