The Williams Police Department (WPD) answered the following calls for service (among others) -

• Officers conducted a welfare check on Grant Avenue;

• Officers assisted Lifeline at several locations in the city;

• Officers responded to a 911 hang up from a pay phone at a local grocery store;

• Officers responded to a 911 hang up on Tenth Street;

• Officers took a drunk woman home after she was found on Grand Canyon Blvd.;

• Officers responded to suspicious activity on Tenth Street;

• Officers dealt with a transient behind a local hotel;

• Officers assisted the fire department with a fire in a dumpster at a local hotel;

• Officers responded to a domestic call at a local hotel, the people were gone when officers arrived;

• The Department of Public Safety bomb squad conducted assemblies at local schools at the police department's request after officers had to deal with water bottle bombs in the city;

• Officers removed a transient from Route 66 and Ninth Street;

• Officers responded to shots fired at Cataract Lake, duck hunters were found in the area;

• Officers responded to a neighbor issue on Locust Ave.;

• Officers responded to a disturbance at a local hotel, officers found the situation to be a civil matter;

• Officers responded to several dog calls in the city;

• Officers issued a verbal warning for a disturbance at a local hotel;

• Officers took in found property at a local hotel;

• Officers responded to a suspicious vehicle on Route 66;

• Officers helped a lost tourist get back to their hotel;

• Officers arrested a man for possession of stolen property, burgarly and possession of drug paraphernalia after they served a search warrant on Rodeo Road;

• Officers took a lottery fraud report;

• Officers assisted the Coconino County Sheriff's Office with a car hit by a train west of Cataract;

• Officers dealt with a mental health issue on Franklin Ave.;

• Officers assisted Lifeline with CPR after a woman was found unresponsive at a local hotel;

• Officers responded to a reckless driver on Route 66;

• Officers took a fraud report on Route 66;

• Officers conducted a welfare check on Edison Ave.;

• Officers issued two citations and gave out 15 warnings.

Anyone with any information is urged to call the WPD at (928) 635-4461. Anonymous tips can be left at any time at (928) 635-5992. Those who want to report a crime while remaining anonymous, can also call Silent Witness at (928) 774-6111 or (877) 29-CRIME. Silent Witness offers rewards of as much as $1,000 for information that leads to an arrest.
